Teatro Círculo celebrating its 30th Anniversary presents the world premiere of Lío’s Friend by Puerto Rican playwright Ian Robles, under the direction of Puerto Rican director Mario Colón.

It’s July 25th of 1898 in Puerto Rico, and a rivalry between a young gay Puerto Rican fisherman and a young gay American soldier unfolds.

The American fleet has just arrived at the Southern coast of Puerto Rico. Lío welcomes Chris into his homeland as a new ally that has come to free Puerto Rico from the Spanish authority. Yet as time passes, the abusive hands of colonial exploitation are unveiled, causing an inevitable rivalry between the two men.
