Touring Productions

From our earliest days, Teatro Círculo has toured our plays to college campuses, high schools, NYC parks, and sites throughout New York City and State. As our reputation grew, we were invited to perform internationally at prestigious Golden Age Festivals in France and Spain.

Touring our work allows Teatro Círculo to provide contemporary Latin American work and Golden Age Classics, performed in Spanish, for audiences of 1st-3rd generation Latinx Americans and newly arrived immigrants. These touring performances serve to revive and preserve Spain’s Golden Age Classics and to amplify the voices of Latin American playwrights.

This June 2025, we have been invited to the XXIV Festival Iberoamericano del Siglo de Oro de la Comunidad de Madrid, Clásicos en Alcalá. Thanks to your generous contributions to our Send Us to Spain campaign, we will perform at the festival in Spain with El alcalde de Zalamea (The Mayor of Zalamea) by Pedro Calderón de la Barca. We kindly ask you to keep contributing by clicking here.

Also this June 2025, we at Teatro Círculo are very excited to present a family-friendly play, Los garabatos de la luna by Diana Chery-Ramírez, in senior centers in NYC, with the support of The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and the New York Foundation for the Arts.

In the summer of 2024, Teatro Círculo was invited to performed at the XVIII Festival Olmedo Clásico and at the XXIII Festival Iberoamericano del Siglo de Oro: Clásicos en Alcalá, both in Spain, with La monja alférez (The Lieutenant Nun) by Juan Ruiz de Alarcón.

In June 2023, we toured Upper Manhattan with Carmen Rivera’s timely and powerful play, La caída de Rafael Trujillo (The Downfall of Rafael Trujillo) with support from the Honorable Shaun Abreu, City Council District 7, and New York City’s Department of Cultural Affairs, and funding from Cultural Immigrant Initiative. The Northeast Tour was supported, in part, by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs through the office of City Council Member Shaun Abreu, The New York State Council on the Arts, The Howard Gilman Foundation, The Shubert Foundation, the Kaplen Brothers Fund & the Cory & Bob Donnalley Charitable Foundation.

Thanks to generous funding from our international sponsor, Mid-Atlantic, we performed at the XXII Festival Iberoamericano del Siglo de Oro de la Comunidad de Madrid, Clásicos en Alcalá and to the Fundación Siglo de Oro’s Corral de Cervantes, in Madrid in June 2023 with Fuente Ovejuna by Lope de Vega.

Mid Atlantic Arts’ USArtists Program generously funded our production of La vida es sueño (Life is a Dream) by Calderón de la Barca taking us to the 45th Edition of the Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico de Almagro and the XXI Festival Iberoamericano del Siglo de oro de la Comunidad de Madrid, Clásicos en Alcalá in July 2022.
