FREE Performance & Rehearsal SPACE GRANTS to 5 independent Latino companies
$10 Subsidized Tickets for Saturday Nights Performances
FREE Tango Classes and Zarzuela sing-alongs after a show
MI CASA ES TU CASA is a Teatro Círculo’s program to help ease the financial burdens of a new generation of Latinx companies. This program was inspired by the generosity José Cheo Oliveras, Teatro Círculo’s Founding Artistic Director, received from Repertorio Español’s René Buch and Gilberto Zaldívar, Thalia Spanish Theater’s Sylvia Brito, Puerto Rican Travelling Theater’s Miriam Colón, and Pregones’ Rosalba Rolón, when Teatro Círculo was an unhoused theatre company in the early 1990’s. For 32 years, Teatro Círculo has been presenting Spanish Golden Age theater plays and contemporary theater works in NYC, and touring to US Northeastern cities, Puerto Rico and Spain. Through our work we foster an appreciation of the richness of Latin American and Iberian cultures in the context of pluralism that characterizes New York City.
