A revolution with a woman’s blood gets to the stage of Teatro Círculo which, under the successful direction of Mariano de Paco Serrano, has launched its most recent bet of the season: Fuente Ovejuna, a Spanish Golden Age play that comes to reiterate the importance of classical theater on the contemporary stage.

At Teatro Círculo, our hearts go out to the people of Puerto Rico who suffered from the destruction of Hurricane Fiona. We are asking you, our friends, to make a donation to the Hispanic Federation, which is on the ground providing emergency relief services and supplies to communities affected by the hurricane.

We are proudly a bilingual Latino theatre company in NYC and while our East Village homebase venue is renovated to receive a new façade to better accommodate our growing audience, all Teatro Círculo’s shows this theatre season 2022-2023 will be presented at Chain Theatre located at 312 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor, between 8th & 9th Avenues in Manhattan.

Teatro Círculo presented La vida es sueño (Life is a Dream) by Calderón de la Barca at the 45 Festival Internacional de Teatro Clásico de Almagro and the XXI Festival Iberoamericano del Siglo de Oro de la Comunidad de Madrid, Clásicos en Alcalá, both in Spain this July 2022 thanks to a grant of Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation and USArtists International.

After two years of doing Abuelito, dime tú Program online, it was incredibly rewarding to be back “in the room” with our abuelitas and abuelitos. Their live performance was beautiful and well-received! After they took their bows, every performer received a certificate of completion!
