New Season, New Venue

We are proudly a bilingual Latino theatre company in NYC and while our East Village homebase venue is renovated to receive a new façade to better accommodate our growing audience, all Teatro Círculo’s shows this theatre season 2022-2023 will be presented at Chain Theatre located at 312 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor, between 8th & 9th Avenues in Manhattan. The theater is ADA Accessible.

This new theater season our audiences will enjoy classics from the Spanish Golden Age Theatre, flamenco, contemporary theatre, the return to the stage of a past production and a guest theatre company from Spain.

Given the rise in autocracies around the world and voter suppression bills pending in different states in the United States, Teatro Círculo has chosen this season projects to underscore the very real threats that oppressive authoritarian rule presents to any government system that honors community participation.

October 7 to 23, 2022, during Hispanic Heritage Month, will be presented the Spanish Golden Age Theatre classic Fuente Ovejuna by Lope de Vega, known for its stirring depiction and critique of the abuse of power, this classic tells the compelling story of community empowerment. In Spanish with overtitles in English.

February 17 to 26, 2023 On stage CALLBACK series 2023 in its eight edition, program that has found acceptance and interest among New York City audiences.
